paper clips

In the name of making things because things are fun to make, I made myself a paper clip necklace today.

I've been experimenting with ways to make jewelry with everyday objects. I thought that instead of chaining together the clips like I used to when I was a kid (making my dad crazy) I would line them up like my safety pin necklace of yesteryear. It's a little messy, but I kinda like it.

I also made another one with those tiny glass beads that I wanted to show you guys. 

It's more of a layered thing going on there. 

Any other ideas for random things I could make jewelry out of? Lots of people have made some pretty cool stuff out of everyday items, on a way way bigger scale than my tiny diys. Specifically,  did you hear about the rad dress Esther Boller made out of masking tape?

It's kinda fantastic. And she won a Scholastic Award for it! Which makes it even more swell. She gets all the points.
